Year 3: The Beginning of the End

I'm back, after this seemingly never-ending hiatus.

Today was the first day back at school, and I'm officially a senior. Seeing these words be typed out on the screen and processing this nugget of information still is so unbelievable. It seems like literally last week that it was my own DOC, but that was 2 years ago. Isn't that crazy?

My poly experience has honestly been amazing, and I'm so thankful for all the things I've learnt, academic-wise, and in other areas of life. And, I'm so happy I've made such good friends, and found the people I want to stay friends with for a long time to come.

I've decided to start blogging and actually maybe stick to this so that I can say I'm doing something right for once, and I will be posting weekly with life updates, rants, think pieces and whatever may come.

But, a summary of what has happened since my last post last October (oh God, I'm so bad at updating), was basically I went to my first USS Halloween Horror Nights, and I seriously shit my pants, but it was an amazingly fun night with the squad.

In November, I attended my lovely friend's Sweet 16 at ZOUK (yes, you read that right), and caught up with a lot of my juniors. It made me tear thinking about how I saw them blossom throughout the years from awkward teens to young ladies. I would have given a speech, but I would have been a sobbing mess on the floor, this is no exaggeration.

A few days later, I attended Sundown Festival with the full squad and it was so fun, we were just running around everywhere, listening to amazing music, and just chilling. I took a photo with a member from local hardcore band, Caracal, and he was sweaty as hell, but still cool.

December was an eventful month, with Christmas and whatnot. They had an absolutely stunning event at Gardens by the Bay, and we went there to take a look at the lights and revel in the Christmas spirit. A few days after that, we also went to the Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition at Marina Bay Sands, and it was almost a spiritual experience, not gonna lie.

I ended my 2015 with an absolute bash, because I went to see the New Years Eve fireworks for the first time in my life, with my favorite people, and it was honestly gorgeous, and I loved every moment of it.

2016 started off pretty good, to be honest. I went on a local field trip in January with Lianne, and we went around to museums with our CDS. It was the most aesthetically pleasing day of that entire month. Singapore is really stepping up their art scene, and I really appreciate and love that. Bree turned 19 and we made a hilarious video for him and we stuffed our faces with food at Swee Choon, and January ended like that.

I skipped a few days of school during the long Chinese New Year weekend and spent five days in Hokkaido, freezing my ass off in 5 degrees. It was my first time in Hokkaido and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I literally rode a snow mobile. I was alone on Valentines Day, but hey, we can't have everything, right?

March was an amazing month, because it was the beginning of my 2 month holiday. I spent a week in Korea in the most amazing winter-to-spring transition weather on a Global Perspectives school trip. But before that, we did celebrate Joy's big 20 at Zouk. The details will remain a secret (wink).

Happy Birthday Joy, you're old but still STUPID! Love you xo
Korea honestly felt like a holiday, because we went to so many recreational places, like Ocean World, and Myeongdong and Hongdae. But, we did do some learning as well, with factory and museum visits and we even had to complete a learning journal. Yes, those still exist.

April was pretty dull, because most of my friends were overseas at staggered timings, or they were working, so we didn't hang out much at all, but now it's May, and I'm probably going to see them everyday in school because we have the same timetables.

That's basically everything that has been going on in my life right now, and I hope I will stick to my word this time and I'll be back next week with another post. Probably a rant, just saying.

Love,
Ber

The Thing About: Sex

The thing about sex is that it's a completely natural thing to want to do.

The thing about sex is that you are not wrong for wanting, or not wanting to, have it.

The thing about sex is that it feels great, and you should not feel ashamed for admitting it.

The thing about sex is that you can do what you want regarding it, it's your body, it's your rules.

The thing about sex is that it's not sex if it isn't consensual.

The thing about sex is that you can save it for marriage, or don't, and that's ok.

The thing about sex is that you can have it with the your committed partner, or enjoy safe, consensual, casual sex, and it's all fine.

The thing about sex is that you shouldn't let other people pressure you into doing it before you're ready.

The thing about sex is that as long as it's safe, legal, consensual and doesn't hurt anyone, go have as much sex as you want.

The thing about sex is that it's just sex, and having it, or not having it, will not change you as a person.

You are more than your sex life. You are a human, a wonderfully intricate, three-dimensional, and amazing individual. Don't let others control you and dictate your actions based on their morals and their codes and rules. You are you, and they are them. If they hate on you and try to change you, because you are different from them, honestly, tell them to shove it up their ass, and walk away.

Have sex or don't, but always remember to be safe and obtain consent. Have fun fucking 💞

Love,

Ber

Submissions are (almost) over!

Hey everyone!

For past few days have been great photo days, so I decided to share these amazing shots with you.

In my all black ensemble that I wore today, I was shot by my dear friend Nozomi and she did a really amazing job despite the fact she was holding a curry puff in one hand.

I climbed into this huge V yesterday and I thought it looked really cool. It's the only V I'm gonna get because everyone assumes I'm straight. Major FML.

joy: she looks like she can pose for lingerie

And this last one was taken by Alyssa, a long time friend of mine on Sunday!

anyway, I just started on Exercise 2 for Concept Research and my theme is Gothic and I drew this girl. Idk if its any good but I hope she looks edgy and cool HAHA.

I have a pretty good feeling about this Exercise so I'm gonna pop off and continue it.

More mini-updates to come!

Love,
Ber

#ChickFamilyAusTrip2K14 Day 0

HEY EVERYONE IT ME

me

It me

I am Ber

Yes me

Here with a quick update

The time now is 11:16PM and my ass is still at home. My luggage is all packed and I'm ready to go, but since my flight is literally at 2:45AM, imma chill.

So I decided to pack my laptop in the end because it isn't even that heavy and I rather have small daily updates instead of shoving a long ass post down your throats when I'm back.

You can keep up with me easier if you check out my twitter @brncng, I'll be tweeting up till boarding and once we land in Sydney and I get my SIM card. My instagram (same user as twitter) will also be flooded with posts and you can track the tag #ChickFamilyAusTrip2K14.

I also downloaded like 8 albums to my phone so I can listen to more songs on the flight. I finally listened to Centuries and it makes me feel like aggressively doing a lyrical dance.

Still not sure if I'll be doing any vlogs. Idek what people wanna watch tbh. I'm mediocre at makeup. Maybe I'll just post something simple up, yeah?

The time now is 11:25PM and I've been sitting at this desk for 9 minutes writing this. I can't wait to sleep on the plane or at the airport. 2:45AM.

Can you even imagine how shit I'm gonna look in the morning? When we arrive in Sydney, it'll be afternoon. Everyone will be looking at me and be like who is this ugly Asian midget troll

And I'll sit on the floor and cry while I eat a bag of chips.

Idk how to sign off this shit so I'm just gonna say bye

Bye,
Ber

Going Greek

Hey guys!

Today was a long day. Claire and I finally managed to shoot together! Our shoot was grecian themed and was so much fun. A more detailed post is up on our shared Wordpress. You can find it here at: http://theesthetiqueblog.wordpress.com ♡

These are just my personal favorites. Claire has a lot of great shots up on the wordpress. You should check it out. Here are some of mine! All of these shots were taken by Claire. And as much as I love being behind the lens, being in front of it was a good change too. I hope to shoot with her again soon! ♡

I'm flying off to Australia at the end of the week with my two very close friends, Jillian and Lianne for a holiday. I anticipate a lot of photos will be taken. A lot of spastic ones and a lot of good ones!

And I may be meeting Harry when we fly to the Gold Coast. For those who don't know who Harry is, no it's not Styles or Potter. And I'll explain it all in another post. Another story for another day.

I'll be back on the 6th of October and I don't think I'll be blogging till then. If I do, it'll probs be from mobile. I haven't decided if I'll bring my Mac there.

Thank you for visiting and I promise I'll update as soon as I can!

Stay cute xo,
Ber

☺ hello it me ☺

Yes, I have started another blog.

And I really am going to try my best to make this one last, unlike my previous failed attempts.

For those of you who are new, just passing by or don't know me, here's a little introduction.

My name is Bernice and I'm currently a Year 1 student in Temasek Polytechnic. My course is Apparel Design and Merchandising (ADM) and I flippin' love my class.

I'm 18 years old and my birthday is on the 28th of May. I'm not into that '18 years young hur hur' kinda shit. I'm not 80, I don't have age issues.

At this point in my life, I'm really into bands. I don't know if its just a phase. I hope not. Bands fucking rock. My favorites have to be (in no particular order):

- Mayday Parade
- A Day to Remember
- A Rocket to the Moon
- The 1975
- Arctic Monkeys
- Bring Me the Horizon
- Crown the Empire
- You Me At Six
- Pierce the Veil

I seriously can't live without them. But I also dig Lana del Rey (more like Lana del Bae, am I right?) and Marina and the Diamonds and Paloma Faith. Ugh, they're so awesome.

There is also a list of things I absolutely love doing, but am not very good at. I love drawing, painting, dancing, acting, singing and writing fiction. And reading, but I'm pretty good at reading.

I've been dancing for over 10 years. Mostly ballet, but I also love modern dance and hip hop. I tried jazz and it was nice, but not my cup of tea.

My favorite book series is Harry Potter. I made the words bigger so you can fully actualize how much I fucking love it.

And I dedicate my life to tv shows. I don't watch a lot but when I watch a tv show, I fucking watch a tv show. I love BBC Sherlock, Supernatural and Doctor Who mostly.

And on the side, I watch Wire in the Blood, Torchwood and Hotel Babylon. They're pretty cool. I adore fantasy fiction, so it goes without saying that I love LOTR and The Hobbit. I marathoned all the movies in one day. 4 movies (at that time), 3 hours each. #NoRagrets

Adding to my marathon list, I have marathoned 7 whole seasons of Supernatural in 2 and a half months. That's an average 22 episodes per season and every episode is 40 minutes long.

You do the math, I'm too lazy. And plus, I'm bad at math. Like really bad.

I also am a proud feminist and I proudly support LGBTQ+. And before you go 'oh, she's a man hater. Probably a hairy angry lesbian too', just sit down and shut up.

1. I do not hate men in the slightest. I do acknowledge that there are good man and bad men, and men that are in between.

There are bad men and I really wish they'd all congregate for an Asshole Convention and that a mysterious poisonous gas would be leaked within their hall and they'd never be able to reproduce and spread the stupid.

But I love good men and I appreciate the good men in this world and I pray they will reproduce and pass on their good genes.

2. I maintain my body hair perfectly well, thank you very much. However, even if a woman chooses not to shave or wax her body hair, it's none of your business. Her body, her business.

3. Well, I am pretty angry. Angry that people confuse feminists, who want equality, with misandrists, who hate men.

4. And I'm only half lesbian. I'm bisexual and happy about it.

It'd come as a shock for people to know that I'm Christian. There goes to show, we aren't all narrow-minded homophobes!

That's basically all you need to know about me. This introduction turned out a bit longer than I had planned. Hope it wasn't too heavy. Anyway, thank you for visiting my blog, and I promise I'll be back and update soon.

stay cute xo,
Ber ♡
